TouchStar Technologies, parent company to Novo Ivc and Hardware supplier to Novo’s airline clients, have recently announced an improved recycling program which ensures that all disused devices that have become surplus to requirements are recycling domestically and are not incinerated or sent to landfill
In addition, TouchStar strives to minimize the amount of general waste generated at their various company sites. Waste paper, glass, metals, and plastics generated from day to day activities are recycled appropriately aiding in the reduction the companies carbon foot print.
Paper:
All paper from manuals and other printed materials are sent to processing mills, where they undergo a hydro-pulping process to produce new paper-based products such as cardboard boxes and tissues. Typically, over 95% of the materials are recycled in this process. Cardboard is sent to a local paper mill that turns it into (among other things) cores and reels for cables.
Plastics and Metals:
Plastic and metal objects are also collected and recycled, for example milk bottles, plastic food packaging and drinks bottles and cans. Plastic drink cups from the water dispensers are processed through the “save a cup” scheme and batteries are removed and sent to specialist battery recyclers for dedicated metals and plastics treatment.
Printer Cartridges and Mobile Phones:
These are recycled and collected by Marie Curie Cancer Care. For every £20 generated Marie Cuie can provide one hour of in home care for people who are suffering from cancer.
